Debate Team Victory

On Saturday, Nov. 14, CMIT North High School’s Debate Team won a combination of six individual and team awards! This was the team’s second competition, and 8 students (4 pairs) competed in debating the topics of police brutality and school resource officer roles. It was an exciting and long Saturday, but the students were very proud of their performance and are excited to continue to grow as a team. For many of the students, this event was their first debate competition ever.

Novice Division Individual Awards:
10th place: Precious Sobowale
8th place: Jayden Russell
6th place: Cameron Rogers

Novice Division Team Awards:
10th place: Ashley Tchokote and Chelsea Ayitey-Adjin
3rd place: Makeda Daring and Pierre-Alain Hayford-Winful
2nd place: Cameron Rogers and Jayden Russell

Please be sure to congratulate all of the students! We are very excited to continue to compete at more competitions throughout the season. Our next competition is December 12, 2020.
