There will be an Open House this Saturday, December 15th, 2018.
The Open House will be 9AM to 10:30AM in the school’s cafeteria.
Dear Teachers & Students of all CLF Schools,
This opportunity is available to any CLF school students.
By announcing before the holiday break, we thought this would give our tigers more time to prepare for the 2019 Black History Month Essay & Poster Contest.
We did so because this year’s THEME is: STUDENTS’ CHOICE!! That’s right, YOU decide. (Ask your teacher for help if you need guidance).
As in year’s past, CLF will invite finalists to represent their school along with their distinguished parent(s)/guardian(s) to our 2019 Black History Month Reception. This year, we are pleased to be hosting the reception in Upper Marlboro, MD at our gorgeous CMIT South Campus.
Remember, among the finalists invited, (3) winners from each division will be announced and $50 gift cards awards to each winner.
Please reference the 2019 BHM Poster/flyer circulating around your school for more details & scoring rubric.
Final drafts will be collected by your language arts teacher on or before January 25th.

All CLF’s public-charter schools throughout MD are public, tuition-free, & STEAM focused. So too, CLF is non-profit and supports the schools long after we build them. In fact, a new school is only the beginning. What’s more, is that today, CLF has 6 STEAM academies delivering high-quality STEAM education.
In fact, CLF schools serve over 3,000 students in K-12. For 2018-19, we received 7,650 lottery applications for 950 openings and have 6,700+ students vying for a spot on the waiting lists of (6) STEAM schools.
The secret to our success? Community.
Return or come & join us for the 1st time! We welcome families to be a part of our growing community of Science, Tech, Engineering, Arts, & Math mindful members focused on becoming Maryland’s future innovators and leaders!
Come celebrate our 13+ years of service to our community, celebrate your culture with us, and come SAT Nov. 3, 2018 to our CLF CultureFEST.
After all…most of our secret ingredients for a successful school recipe can be found here while among our CELEBRATION OF CULTURES, #CLFCultureFEST!
On December 15th, CMIT Academy had it’s ribbon cutting ceremony for the high school building. After 18 months, on a very tight schedule we have been able to build and complete a state of the art facility for our students to enjoy and learn in for years to come.
We are opening a new Elementary school connected to our CMIT South School.
