WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF THE CLUB?
College Summit Peer Leaders are a group of juniors and seniors who apply and are selected to work as a team and trained to support their 11th and 12th grade peers in college and career research and postsecondary planning as well as promoting a College-Going Culture in the school system. 

 

CLUB DESCRIPTION
College Summit Peer Leaders are a group of juniors and seniors who apply and are selected to work as a team and trained to support their 11th and 12th grade peers in college and career research and postsecondary planning as well as promoting a College-Going Culture in the school system. 

 

THE GOALS OF THE CLUB
1 Support seniors in applying to various postsecondary options. 
2 Promote financial aid literacy throughout the high school student body. 
3 Implement initiatives to connect current times (high school years) with postsecondary and career plans. 

 

SOCIAL MEDIA & WEBSITE: 

How can this club support the school website and the school`s social media accounts?

We can celebrate students (with their permission) as they get accepted to colleges. We are also going to be recording our Virtual College Rep visits for our students to view if they are unable to attend and we can make these recordings available to our students via the School Website. 

 

How can this club support school activities such as;

Spirit Week, BHM, Open House, CMIT club expo, etc?

 

Senior Decision Day

October College Month

Etc. 

 

CLUB RULES/EXPECTATIONS

List below the club norms and rules each member should follow: 

Peer Leaders support their peers by serving as Teaching Assistants in the various College Summit 11 and College Summit 12 course sections. Peer Leaders attend both a Fall and Spring training in addition to meeting weekly to prepare for upcoming class meetings.

Note: Peer Leaders put on many initiatives outside of the school environment and are consistently working to prepare for these activities as they approach. In addition to weekly Peer Leader Meetings, they are in constant communication with the CMIT Counseling Department.
