Drama Club

Come join DRAMA CLUB and learn about theatre, dance and music. It can be done virtually! We will perform reader’s theatre, have guest speakers, play drama games and learn new skills. We will start meeting every Tuesday, starting OCTOBER 6TH from 3-4pm. No experience necessary and no sign up just come on in! This is not only for actors! Makeup design, lighting, set design, prop design, costume design….backstage positions will also be included! Come one come all! I am looking forward to seeing you all ONSTAGE or BACKSTAGE starting in October!

WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF THE CLUB?
The purpose of the club is to provide an opportunity for students interested in all aspects of theatre (onstage and backstage) to learn about theatre and perform for their peers and community.

 

CLUB DESCRIPTION
Drama Club is designed for students interested in learning more about the aspects of theater. This includes learning stage terminology, working on acting skills, set building, and costumes/makeup design. Drama Club is open to all students.

 

THE GOALS OF THE CLUB
1 To promote communication skills, teamwork, socialize and self confidence.
2 To stimulate creativity, imagination and movement
3 To develop a better understanding of human behavior, empathy and sympathy through reading a diverse selection of plays.

 

SOCIAL MEDIA & WEBSITE: 

How can this club support the school website and the school`s social media accounts?

The club can post about their performances.  I will provide pictures and newsletter articles each week about the club’s activities.  

 

How can this club support school activities such as;

Spirit Week, BHM, Open House, CMIT club expo, etc?

 

Drama club can write skits, narrate events, perform, and support any school activity.

 

CLUB RULES/EXPECTATIONS

List below the club norms and rules each member should follow: 

  1. Students will be respectful of each other, themselves, the advisor and the medium of theatre.
  2. If you have any major concerns, talk with the advisor. 
  3. Come prepared with your script and a pencil. It’s a good idea to look over ahead of time what we will be doing that day. 
  4. Be on time to every meeting.

**TBD:  the students will drive some of these activities.  We may have guest speakers, virtual field trips, watch live theatre performances and critique, read plays together, etc.  I want the students to have a say in some of the activities.
